How will you be charged for charging?
Driving an EV might be new for you. Cruising the road in your sleek new low-carbon vehicle has been great so far, but what happens when it’s time to power up? Charging the car is quite straightforward. How about how you will be charged?
It really is not so different from refuelling a regular ICE vehicle, where you fuel up your engine and pay for the amount via a card at the pump machine or the cashier at the petrol station.
Generally, there are also two main ways to pay for EV charging in public. Some public charging stations allow you to pay with a credit or debit card, which might be the more flexible option for you on the go as you will not be bound to a single network or service provider. The drawback is that you might be charged higher as a non-member.
If you are a member, however, your service provider likely comes with a dedicated app to manage all your charging activities under a personal account, including authenticating your charging session. In Singapore, most EV companies design and provide apps to enhance the customer experience with smart charging services – including us - to help you easily manage your charging sessions and payments with a secured payment gateway and real-time information about your charging status.
Once you are done charging, disengage easily on the app and the cable will unlock, allowing you to return the charger and resume your journey.
Here is more information about our app specifically.
The good news is, you do not have to be a member to use our app for public charging. You can simply join as a guest.
There is also no subscription fee or pay per use. The app will hold $50 and deduct according to the amount charged. The remaining sum will be returned.
Everything we do is all about making EV driving accessible to everyone, from our foundational work in bolstering Singapore’s EV infrastructure to the friendly user app that will let all drivers charge with ease.
Happy charging!
